Adiabatic flame/combustion temperature calculator

Adiabatic flame/combustion temperature is temperature attained by combustion reaction when it is adiabatic process. In practice, perfact adiabatic process is not possible. In addition, some other factors like incomplete combustion and dissociation of combustion product in some other species (like formation of NOx) affects the temperature.

This calculator uses the enthalpy balance of reactants and products for estimating flame temperature. Combustion is considered as complete and at constant pressure of 1 atm. Air is considered as oxidizer in this calculator. Ideal gas properties are references from JANAF thermo-chemical tables.

For using this calculator insert mass fractions of fuel elements as percentage in fields of carbon, hydrogen, sulphar and oxygen. Also, don't forget to consider moisture present in fuel. Please, remember that this calculator considers amount of fuel as 1 kg, therefore please make sure that summation of mass fractions of fuel elements and moisture equals 100. Also note that moisture and uncombustable matter in fuel affects its heating value, so consider inserting more practical data for better accuracy. Finally, the result of this calculator should be taken as estimation. For important application, practical validation must be considered.
