Amount of combustion products generated can be calculated by balancing chemical equations if exact chemical formula of fuel is known. Otherwise chemical composition of fuel can be also used for the purpose.
However, total amount of flue gas for complete combustion can be easily calculated by considering mass balance. It will be equal to mass of air supplied added to mass of fuel used. Below calcualtor can be used for calculating total mass and volume of flue gas as well as its major components. Volume is calculated here as per ideal gas law at given temperature and pressure of flue gas.
For using this calculator insert mass fractions of fuel elements as percentage in fields of carbon, hydrogen, sulphar and oxygen. Please, remember that this calculator considers amount of fuel as 1 kg for composition. If there is uncombustable matter in fuel like moisture, include it in total mass of fuel for calculating mass fractions of fuel elements. Please note that summation of fuel elements must be 100.
